The Real Homosexual Agenda

In recent years, the American people have been continually bombarded with  demands and demonstrations from militant homosexuals and lesbians, insisting that same-sex marriage be legalized.  Vermont was the first state in the Union to create a same-sex "union" (avoiding the use of the word marriage), in 2000.  Massachusetts made it legal in 2004, and called it marriage, sad to say.  Connecticut offered civil unions as of October, 2005, but included all rights available to opposite-sex married couples.  California (2000) and New Jersey (2004) created domestic partnership registries, which fall short of offering full marriage rights, and actually include some opposite-sex couples in both states.

But, in spite of all the loud voices, street demonstrations, the trumpeting of propaganda, endless media interviews, etc., etc., is marriage really what homosexuals and lesbians want? 

I don't think so.

The statistics are very revealing. 

By the end of 2005, only 3.75 % of New Jersey's homosexuals had registered as domestic partners.  Even in Vermont, only 16 % of the state's homosexual population had entered into civil unions by 2004.  After an initial surge in Massachusetts, the number of homosexual "marriages" dropped quickly, and attorneys began filing the first homosexual divorces within a few months of legalization.  The estimate for 2004 was that only 10.2 % of the state's homosexuals had married.  In California, as of February 2006, only 9.4 % of the homosexuals had registered in partner relationships. 

If we look abroad, we find even lower numbers.  In Holland, which legalized homosexual marriage in 2001, through June of 2005 only 3.89 % of the nation's homosexuals were in same-sex marriages.  Here are some other countries: Belgium--1.96 %; France--7.38 %; Germany--0.59 %; and New Zealand--0.47 %. 

What all these numbers mean is that homosexuals are not terribly interested in taking advantage of the opportunity to marry where same-sex marriage is available to them.  There just is not a strong motivation among the majority of them to do this.  Why not?

Because, their blaring propaganda to the contrary, the real homosexual agenda is not about the right to marry.  Their real motivation is to destroy the family unit, to do away with the revelation of Holy Scripture (Genesis 1:26-28) that God created the institution of marriage as the only divinely-ordained vehicle for the conception and rearing of children.  Marriage was thus God's way of sanctifying and safeguarding the propagation of the human race.  That marriage is a sacred institution, and not to be tampered with, is clearly re-affirmed by the Lord Jesus Christ in the Gospels (Matthew 19:3-9, Mark 2:10-12) and by the Apostles Paul (Ephesians 5:21-33) and Peter (1 Peter 3:1-7).

What homosexuals really want is to get the "good housekeeping seal of approval" from the American people for their sinful practice of homosexuality.  They want us to agree with them that homosexuality is natural and normal, that God created some people this way, and that therefore He loves those folks just as they are, and accepts their homosexual lust for each other as normative, and "ok." 

This is why they push the Church to accept homosexuals as members of congregations, to ordain homosexuals, and to perform official marriage ceremonies for homosexuals.  They know that if the Church accepts it, that the message that sends to the public is that God accepts it, since the Church speaks for Him.

Never mind that the Bible, the Word of God, explicitly condemns homosexuality as sinful and wrong behavior (Leviticus 20:13, 18:22)--which, if unrepented and persisted in, will earn the homosexual everlasting damnation.  We Christians are just "misinterpreting it," they say, or "it really doesn't mean what it says," or "God has more light to shed on the issue these days," or some other flimsy excuse to reject what God has stated plainly.  

What needs to be clearly understood these days is that the homosexual agenda is to reject and do away with the idea that God's image is actually in human beings as male and female.  In Genesis 1, the Bible tells us that both male and female are created in the image of God.  That means that God's image is naturally linked to our sexual natures at the time of our conception. 

But, if the homosexuals can unhook God's image in our human nature from our sexuality, then they can make gender of no consequence--it no longer has any divine handprint on it.  In that view, human beings can be male, female, bisexual or transgendered, or whatever.

On the other hand, if God created us male and female, and only male and female, then transgendered people or bisexual people are engaging in an unnatural and abominable behavior, a sinful rejection of God's will and His order of creation. 

If the homosexuals can succeed in their goal to make gender roles insignificant, then the Biblical definition of family as one husband, one wife, and children becomes meaningless, and can be relegated to the ash heap of outmoded, "medieval" ideas.  Family, in the homosexual view, could then be defined as any combination of human beings or animals desired -- two lesbians, three women and a man, two men and two dogs--whatever.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is where they really want to go.  That is the real agenda!

Francis Kameny, a founder of the homosexual movement in Washington, DC, and a iconic leader in the homosexual community, states it bluntly: "The notion of the family...is enmeshed in a web...of religious, moral, and theological precepts, all of which serve needlessly, harmfully, and perniciously to bind, limit, and restrain individuals in the exercise of their freedoms to enter into choices as to their intimate relationships." 

It scarcely needs to be pointed out that this kind of thinking threatens the very basis of society, since the family unit is the basic building block of all societies.  This is a Satanic attack on God's order of creation, and Christians must resist this with everything we have.  The fight against the homosexual agenda is spiritual warfare of the highest order, but it must be waged not only with the spiritual weapons of prayer, but also with all the political, and social weapons that we are able to utilize. 

Finally, Kameny's outrageous statements come from his adherence to a modern movement called "deconstruction," which rejects all the pillars of Western civilization.  But that is the subject for another commentary.
